Es el caso del Carnaval del Archipi\u00e9lago de\nlas Islas Bijag\u00f3s, una fiesta que permite al visitante adentrarse en una de las\nmanifestaciones m\u00e1s interesantes de la cultura de Guinea-Bissau. Una muestra de\ndanzas y ceremonias ind\u00edgenas que permanecen intactas desde hace siglos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Esta celebraci\u00f3n es una fiesta de gran tradici\u00f3n en el peque\u00f1o pa\u00eds africano y, en particular, en su capital, Bissau. Es un fen\u00f3meno etnogr\u00e1fico de gran significado en el que todas las etnias mayoritarias se muestran&nbsp;con orgullo por sus avenidas, participando en un concurso organizado por las autoridades locales. Cada a\u00f1o se elige un tema que sirve de inspiraci\u00f3n para la creatividad del carnaval. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El Carnaval da comienzo con la llegada de su comitiva desde las islas Bijag\u00f3s llena de color, ritmo y tradici\u00f3n. Los participantes visten disfraces y m\u00e1scaras con las que representan a sus animales sagrados: el toro, el hipop\u00f3tamo, el tibur\u00f3n martillo o la Reina Pampa, el s\u00edmbolo del poder matriarcal de los Bijag\u00f3s. Es entonces cuando el ambiente queda preso del ritmo de los tambores, y las complejas coreograf\u00edas de los locales comienzan a fluir.
